Spring into sun, surf and sand these school holidays

School holidays on the Central Coast.

School holidays are the perfect time to plan a family seaside escape to Terrigal. With the warm weather and long days, you don’t need much more of an excuse to getaway.

Learn to Surf on Terrigal Beach
Terrigal Beach offers ideal conditions for budding surfers looking to refine their skills on the water. There are several surfing clinics on the Central Coast that run private lessons and larger group sessions throughout the school holiday period. Lifeguards regularly patrol Terrigal Beach as well, making it a safe choice for families. You can lie down on the sand, soak up the beautiful sunshine and keep an eye on the kids in the water, all at the same time. It’s win-win for both the kids and the parents. For more information you can speak to our friendly Concierge team.

Aquafun Avoca Lake
Offering an aquatic experience like no other, a visit to the Aquafun on Avoca Lake is a must-do with the kids these school holidays. There’s pedal-boating, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, playgrounds and more to keep kids of all ages entertained for hours. If you not up for all the aquatic adventuring then there a plenty of shady picnic and barbeque areas to set up camp for the day. They’re all just 100m from the beach so you still have a great vantage point to watch out for the little ones.

Spend the day at Bouddi National Park
The Bouddi National Park is home to tranquil and secluded beaches, acres of rainforests and stretches of sandstone cliffs and stunning coastline. The kids can explore the wonders hidden along the coastal walk whilst you enjoy the spectacular views, or uncover the wreck of the PS Maitland at Maitland Bay. We recommend you make a day of your trip to the National Park and pack a lunch to enjoy on the soft grassy picnic area.

Animal Encounters at the Australian Reptile Park
Recognised as the ‘best family day out’ on the Central Coast, the kids won’t be bored for a second when they visit the Australian Reptile Park. The park is home to Elvis, the crankiest crocodile in Australia, Hugo, the whopping 165kg Galapagos tortoise, and many other reptile, mammal and bird species.  If you’ve got a little inspiring zoo keeper on your hands then the Kids 2 Keepers program run during the school holidays is an extra special way for them to spend the day. Plus there are special experiences, programs and activities on offer for kids of all ages, from 3- 18 years of age.
